Suntracks was created with the aim of connecting international music supervisors with the vast and rich catalog of popular and contemporary Spanish music.

After three successful editions in Seville, we are expanding the event with a special edition in Los Angeles in 2025.

Over two days, we will host two groups of 12 music supervisors each day, offering them a unique experience with Spanish music as the centerpiece.

Through five curated auditions presented by five exclusive curators from Spain’s music and film industries, we aim to open a door to showcase an immensely rich musical legacy.

Rocío Mesa
AS MASTER OF CEREMONIES: ROCÍO MESA

Rocío Mesa is a filmmaker, producer, and programmer bridging Spanish independent cinema and international audiences. Her debut fiction feature, Secaderos (2022), premiered at San Sebastián, winning the Dunia Ayaso Award, and received the Visions Audience Award at SXSW. She also directed the creative documentary Orensanz (2013) and explores analog experimental film shown at museums and festivals worldwide. As co-founder of NAINO, she’s produced acclaimed works like Mbah Jhiwo (Berlinale 2021) and Portales (Berlinale Expanded 2025). Mesa also heads LA OLA, a platform promoting contemporary Spanish indie cinema in North America.

In this first audition, we invite you to immerse yourself in the unique tonalities and spirit of Spain. A carefully curated journey through pop, rock, and soul tracks from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, all infused with an unmistakable Iberian mood. These timeless melodies capture decades of cultural fusion, blending the warmth of the Mediterranean, the depth of the Atlantic, and the soul of our land, while steering clear of world music clichés.

Iñigo Pastor (AKA Iñigo Munster) is a key figure in the Spanish independent music scene, known as the founder of the labels Munster Records and Vampisoul. With Munster Records, he has rescued and shared authentic gems of rock, punk, garage, and other cult sounds, making it an international reference for collectors and lovers of the authentic. Meanwhile, Vampisoul has specialized in uncovering and reissuing hidden treasures of tropical music, soul, and global sounds, establishing itself as an essential player in the exploration of worldwide rhythms. His passion for the rare, the dark, and the avant-garde has connected generations of music lovers, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.

Enjoy artisan bread topped with the finest Iberian «pata negra» ham, freshly harvested Spanish tomatoes, and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. How love make us do stupid things

Passion has a sound. Overflowing desire and heartbreak are forces that can lead us to extreme situations but also fuel creativity, inspiring musicians to compose with an authenticity that lets listeners feel every vibration in their skin, living each story as their own. Through various genres, Rebeca Hernández (rebe) will guide us through this overwhelming impulse, exploring how each artist translates their version of passion into unique melodies, lyrics, and rhythms, wrapping the audience in an experience that pulses and burns, leaving them breathless and craving more.

Borja Torres is a driving force behind Lovemonk, one of Spain's most innovative and eclectic record labels. Known for his sharp ear and passion for unique sounds, Torres has played a pivotal role in shaping the label’s diverse roster, which spans soul, funk, electronic, jazz, and beyond. Under his guidance, Lovemonk has become a hub for groundbreaking artists, blending global influences with a distinctly contemporary edge. Beyond his role at the label, Borja is also a music supervisor, the DJ known as Señorlobo, and the founder of the music publishing company Bonatarda. A tireless advocate for artistic integrity and quality, Torres has helped Lovemonk carve out a space as a tastemaker in the independent music scene, both in Spain and internationally.

Something has changed: A quixotic journey through the spanish blues (2024)

The film explores the mark left by Pappo Napolitano on the American blues scene during the 1990s, his surprising acceptance into B.B. King’s “Blues Mafia,” and the legacy of Spanish-language blues he helped shape. It features interviews with Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses), Carmine Appice, Larry McCray, Good Time Charlie Bretchel, and Melvyn «Deacon» Jones, who recorded with Pappo in Los Angeles. The film premiered at BAFICI, where it was praised by Tiempo Argentino as “one of the festival’s major revelations.”
